NOW ON TAP: We just tapped the latest release from our West Seattle Pub, West Side Brown Ale. But right now it's pouring only in Burien.
We've had such a good reception for Brown Ales poured in WS that we thought it was time to brew one there.
This recipe is a bit lighter in color than our B-Town Brown and includes a small dose of Briess malt smoked with cherry wood. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Being Brewed: Organic Pumpkin Beer
We're brewing Organic Mashing Pumpkin Ale at both pubs this week!
The recipe is similar to those we've used the past couple of years. Each uses organic pumpkin meat mixed into the mash and spices in the kettle.
Look for this year's batch at the Pumpkin Fest held at Elysian Brewing on Capitol Hill on October 10-11.
We'll also be releasing some booze/wood-aged versions along the way at our own pubs...think rum and/or bourbon + oak and pumpkin.

Hop Trip 2009
Yesterday we made a run over to Hop Country, WA to pick up some fresh hops. We were fortunate enough to show up when the coveted Amarillo variety was ready.
So we stuffed some bags and boxes full of plump cones and headed back over the hill to ready the hops for their ultimate destination...Hop Harvest Ale in Burien and a guest appearance in a batch of Riot Ale in West Seattle.
Many thanks to our gracious host, Darren Gamache, for hauling us around and giving us such great access to some of our favorite ingredients.
